Faith Planting Churches

THE GOOD NEWS

Our desire as a church planting church is to utilize the core values and resources of Faith Baptist Church to take this good news—the never-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ—in order to start brand new churches in some of the least reached regions of our country and world…  [Read more]

TRIPS

Two kinds of church planting trips that we plan throughout the year are Mission Trips and Vision Trips.  For opportunities, contact brad@faithnc.org.

‘Mission Trips’ are part of our missions strategy.  We continue to partner with people who have transplanted their lives in locations around the world to engage unreached people groups and to plant churches.  These trips are short-term opportunities to work alongside Missionary Church Planters who need specific help for a specific purpose.

‘Vision Trips’ give the people in our church the opportunity to see where we are currently planting a church and other areas of Pennsylvania where we are looking to plant churches in the future.  “Seeing is believing” when it comes to what God is going to do through Faith!  People going on these short-term trips return to serve as ambassadors to the Body for Faith’s vision to plant churches and many of them will discover how God would have them participate, ‘going’ again as members of missionary church planting teams.

CHURCH PLANTS

Our first church plant, Redeeming Grace Church, is underway in Harrisburg, PA.  We also support the New Life Community Church, a church planted in Northfield, Vermont by a family from Faith.

CHURCH PLANTING CLASS

One of our discipleship classes that meet from 6:30-8:00pm on Wednesday nights, this class is open to everybody and is an excellent way to get in on Faith’s vision to plant churches.  Whether you plan to go on a church planting team in the future, stay here to assist those who will go, or you are simply not sure, this class will introduce you to the “who, what, why, when, and where” of Faith’s vision to plant churches.  I often get asked whether this class is just for the select few or really for everyone.  The answer is truly everyone!  We want as many people as possible to understand the vision so that we can raise up the large network of prayer warriors & supporters that are needed for a vision like this.  You do not have to worry about us telling you to leave for Pennsylvania or anywhere else for that matter.  We will leave that up to God.

SEMINARY PARTNERSHIP

Are you ready for some great news?!  Our church has been accepted as a Great Commission Equipping Network Church through Southeastern Seminary.  That means that anyone who goes to SEBTS or the college at Southeastern can take this Church Planting discipleship class for 3 units of credit!  What a great way to both stay involved and invested in your church while pursuing your degree!

PRAY

…that God would raise up teams of missionary church planters to go share the good news of Jesus in Pennsylvania.

…that God would raise up teams to go to re-plant existing churches.

…that God would continue to bless the families in ministries with whom Faith is partnering (the Morrison Family in Pennsylvania and the Cates Family in Vermont).

…for people of Pennsylvania and Vermont—that their hearts would be open to the gospel.

…that God would give our leadership wisdom as we train and equip those who will go.

THE GOOD NEWS
(continued from top)

You don’t have to look very far to find people, communities, cities and even entire regions that feel like the things they desire most are simply out of reach. They feel like true love and real hope and genuine forgiveness are just too much to ask.  In many cases, they have settled for cheap substitutes. This is not necessary!  Throughout Scripture, we discover a grand story.  The story begins tragically with people who were created to have a wonderful relationship with their Creator, but who settled for less.  Anything less than what God designed us for and desires for us is a cheap substitute and is called sin.  However, the story does not end there.  We see God promising to send a Redeemer (Rescuer) through the Seed of Abraham (Gen. 12:1-3) and David (2 Sam. 17:12-16).  That Redeemer indeed came.  His name is Jesus and He is The One through whom all people who place their faith in Him may be saved from substitutes and can receive true love, genuine hope and forgiveness from sin.  This is salvation!  Our desire as a church planting church is to utilize the core values and resources of Faith Baptist Church to take this good news—the never-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ—in order to start brand new churches in some of the least reached regions of our country and world.  As we do, the people of those communities, cities, and regions will have the opportunity to know that they no longer have to settle for cheap substitutes when the real thing is available to them through Jesus!

Where?

Q:  Where do we plan to begin new churches?

A:  Strategic Population Centers

Strategic: necessary to or important in the initiation, conduct, or completion of a strategic plan.

Population: a body of persons or individuals having a quality or characteristic in common.

Center: a source from which something originates.

Because we plan to start churches, or help transition existing churches, that will themselves become church planting hubs (starting other churches in their region), we are committed to engaging communities that have regional influence.

Examples of strategic population centers are

large cities

 rapidly growing communities

 centers of education or culture

Who?

Q:  Who should consider being a part?

A:  In general it takes many different types of people to reach many types of people. There is great value in having people of different ages, marital statuses,       socio-economic backgrounds, and ethnicities to effectively engage communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ultimately those people who God calls to be involved and are willing to do whatever it takes to follow that call should consider being a part.

More specifically we will need our whole church to commit to praying, helping from here in Youngsville, or going with a team of missionaries (short-term or long-term) to engage the new community.  Abilities are blessings, but availability is key!

How?

Q:  How will we accomplish this vision?

A:  Prayer

The first and most obvious answer is that we will continually and consistently make it a matter of serious prayer.  Luke 10:2 makes it clear that the harvest of souls is plentiful, but the workers are few; so we ought to pray that the Lord would raise up new laborers to go out into the harvest.

Interest

We will make every effort to involve all those interested in the ongoing conversation about church planting through occasional forums where we share information, people can ask questions, and where we pray for the realization of this vision.  Also, we’ll provide informational updates and continue to cast vision via sermons, leadership meetings, and other venues.

Equipping

The ways we equip people wanting to be involved in carrying out this vision will vary greatly. Yet, some things will be consistent, such as offering the Church Planting Class.  We require this class for any person desiring to be a member of the missionary church planting team and recommend it for anybody desiring to be better equipped to support our church planting efforts from here.

Sending

After a team has been both gathered and equipped, we will have the privilege of sending them to engage a new community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Supporting

Our commitment to the teams we send does not end when they are sent.  We will continue to support them as they cultivate relationships, settle into their new community and watch God do His work to expand His kingdom.
