Seminary Partnership

 

Faith Baptist Church & Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary

Faith Baptist Church is pleased to announce a partnership with Southeastern Seminary and The College at Southeastern. The partnership allows Faith Baptist Church to offer 18 hours of credit toward graduate and undergraduate degrees at Southeastern Seminary, and The College at Southeastern.

Faith Baptist Church has always supported theological education, and after serving seminary students for years we are convinced that the local church is a wonderful ministry laboratory and capable of offering opportunities to learn and serve in ways a seminary cannot duplicate.  This partnership allows our pastors to more effectively and purposely raise-up a new generation of pastors, missionaries, counselors and may others to take part in God’s mission.

 

Benefits for student:

  1. Students have the opportunity to earn credit hours towards their degree
  2. Students will both learn and practically apply their knowledge
  3. Students papers and projects will directly assist the ministry of Faith Baptist Church
  4. Students will learn how theories and philosophies of ministry are practiced in their local church
  5. Students will be invited to attend selected staff proceedings

Courses Offered

  • Church Planting (Fall 2011)
    • Church Planting will be offered and will incorporate some hybrid class (i.e. online and classroom) elements as well as some practicum work. This course will suffice for a church planting requirement, or as a general elective.

  • Christian Missions (Spring 2012)
    • Christian Missions will be comprised of hybrid and practicum components and will suffice for your Christian Missions requirement.

  • Christian Leadership (Fall 2012)
    • Christian Leadership is comprised of hybrid and practicum components and will suffice for a general or a leadership elective.

 

  • Supervised Ministry (Offered Fall, Spring and Summer semesters)
    • Supervised Ministry is for students that desire to work and learn within the framework of Faith Baptist Church.  This 3 credit hour course, and can be taken up to 3 times for a total of 9 credit hours. In addition to doing significant work for your local church, there will be opportunities to participate in weekly ministerial occurrences with your pastors.
