Serving

We’re glad you’re here!  If you’ve been attending Faith for a while or if you’re brand new, we hope that you’re considering making Faith your church home.  Once you’ve taken that step, one of the fastest ways to get to know people and to be a part of what God is doing to love people at Faith, in our community, and around the world…is to serve.  Serving is not merely filling a slot or satisfying a need.  Serving is a privilege and a necessary part of maintaining a perspective that puts Jesus’ priorities and the needs of others ahead of our own.  Just as Jesus came to serve rather than to be served, we look for ways to pour ourselves out not only to bless others, but also because through serving we honor & glorify God and are deeply satisfied in Him.

Faith Baptist Church is comprised of people who are diverse and come with unique backgrounds and experiences, with passions and talents and gifts.  Serving is a part of how we worship.  As we do all that we do unto God, He will challenge us and will equip us to do all that He calls us to accomplish in His Name.  While membership is required to serve in most cases, there are areas where anyone can enter into a trial period to take part while in the process of becoming a member.

There are a large number of people serving each week.  Still, there is a place for everyone to be an important part.  God may be leading you to a particular area or He may be simply preparing your heart to step up where the needs are the greatest.  There are always ‘priority serving needs’.  These are the jobs that need to be done or it becomes difficult to continue to reach people.  Pray and consider where you will serve.
