Membership
We take membership seriously! The reason we do so is because we need our members like a body needs all its parts! According to 1 Corinthians 12:7, each follower of Jesus is given spiritual gifts to be used for “the common good.” God has given each member here at Faith different gifts and talents to be used in the building up of the church and the carrying out of the mission. Without our members, we cannot carry out the mission Jesus has given us. Our members are those who have chosen to invest in what God is doing through Faith and commit to our membership covenant.

Having placed our trust in Jesus Christ as our Savior, and having been baptized as believers in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we enter into covenant with one another, striving by God's grace to pursue the following commitments, and extending forgiveness to each other when we fail.
As members of Faith Baptist Church, we commit to draw near to God in worship, to seek to bring honor and glory to God as individuals, to make this body of believers our family in Christ, and to submit to the Word of God as the all sufficient authority in our lives.
We commit to meet with one another regularly, pray for one another consistently, serve one another selflessly, and forgive one another as Christ has forgiven us. We commit to rejoice at each other’s happiness, and seek to bear each other’s burdens with tenderness and sympathy, to encourage one another with our speech and our actions, and to spur one another toward love and good deeds.
We commit to walk together in love, exercising care and watchfulness over each other, while faithfully teaching and correcting one another as occasion may require. We commit to humbly and gently confront one another and receive correction from one another, according to a Biblical understanding of discipline and restoration.
We commit to support this church as good stewards of all God has given us, to be faithful attenders and participants in worship and community, to discover and use our spiritual gifts for the common good, to contribute regularly and cheerfully to the ministries of this church, and to seek the salvation of our neighbors and the nations through both the faithful proclamation of the gospel and a pure and loving example.
We commit to strive by God’s grace and power to walk in holiness as an act of worship to Jesus Christ, to put to death the thoughts and deeds of the flesh, and refrain from practices inconsistent with biblical morality and sexuality, to encourage one another to live conscientiously under the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all areas of life, and to do all by the enabling power of the Holy Spirit.
We commit that, if we leave this church, we will as soon as possible, unite with another church where we can continue to carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
5 Steps to Membership at Faith
-
We ask each person desiring to be a member of Faith to answer a few basic questions about salvation and to write a brief testimony of how they came to believe in Jesus.
Many choose to be ‘regular attenders’ rather than members because they have not decided what they believe about Jesus or because they haven’t taken the step to commit to the local church Body. We welcome people who are still in the process of making any of these decisions, but strongly urge believers in Jesus wishing to be a part of Faith to take ownership and become members.
-
As Baptists, we firmly believe that baptism is a symbolic act of obedience. It is a beautiful picture of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We require that you have been baptized by immersion (under the water) since the time you first believed in Christ. Parents of children wishing to baptized will schedule an orientation meeting with a children’s ministry team member to discuss any timing factors and other pertinent details.
If you have trusted in Christ for salvation & desire to be baptized, contact Collin Whitney, our Discipleship Pastor.

We offer a one-time membership class taught by our pastors where you will learn about Faith, about what we expect of you as a member, and about what you can expect from us as your church. The class is generally held on Thursday night every other month, 6:00-8:30 PM (dinner and childcare are provided). It’s called Connecting Point. If this interests you, select the corresponding event below to RSVP!
-
After completing the membership class, you will provide some basic information, review the membership book, and prayerfully consider becoming a member at Faith. Once you have decided to join the church, we will schedule a short membership meeting for you with one of the pastors. During the meeting, a pastor will review your testimony of belief in Jesus, you'll then sign the membership covenant, and our pastor(s) will answer any final questions you may have.
-
Once the other steps have been completed, we will present you to the congregation through a celebratory commitment presentation at our one of our bi-annual Members Meetings. The congregation will affirm their commitment to you and then will welcome you to the church.
*Members Meetings are usually held in February and August.
