Disaster Relief Trip

  • Faith Baptist Church (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Our hope is to send multiple trips over the next several months to Western North Carolina. These trips will be in partnership with Baptists on Mission. We will need volunteers to help provide meals, clean up debris, and begin repairs.

  • There is no cost for the trip, other than any gas for personal vehicles, and food on way.  The teams will carpool together, may or may not be in a church van depending on nature and location of trip.

All of the trips will be staying at one of the disaster relief centers of the Baptists on Mission. These are usually churches, and will not have cots. Team members must bring something to sleep on (cots, air mattresses, sleeping bags).

  • Once you complete the sign up form, you will receive an email confirmation that has packing lists, medical release papers, and a liability release.

All participants are responsible for their own bed/bedding. You will need a cot or air mattress, but it may not be bigger than a twin.

  • There are lots of options. It will depend on the need at the time.

Most teams will be assisting in one of the following areas: feeding, sorting supplies, debris clean up, mudding out houses, delivering supplies, tarping roofs, etc.

We will try to give more info the week before the trip.

  • Baptists on Mission allows kids as young as 6th graders to participate, but would ask that a parent accompany them (the lodging at the sites will be divided into men and women, so it would be helpful if the parent of the same gender attended).

  • Currently we are planning to send teams:

    • November 7-10 (Team leader: Possibly Jeff Brewer)

    • November 14-17 (Team leader: Paul Peffly)

    • December 4-8 (Team leader: Jeff Brewer)

    • January 8-12 (Team leader: TBD)

We'll keep adding dates as we make plans, but if you'd like to serve with Baptists on Mission, you can sign up through their site to serve whenever you are available.

About David Phelps | Learn More at DavidPhelps.com

David Phelps is credited among today’s most spectacular voices. His seemingly endless vocal range, which extends more than three octaves, coupled with his gift for communicating a song, has brought the house down in the world’s most prestigious venues. He has received numerous Dove Awards, Grammy Awards, and multiple platinum-selling recording projects.

David has topped the Billboard charts time and time again with releases like: the 2017 live DVD The Best Of David Phelps (#1 topping such popular video releases as The Beatles’ Eight Days A Week) and the 2018 live DVD It Must Be Christmas (#2), amongst others. The various recordings have been featured on numerous television networks, including the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) and have received acclaim in both secular and gospel music genres.

Phelps says of his work, “I am and always have been a stylist, and that makes my music and career very eclectic.”

While studying vocal performance at Baylor University, David met Lori, who has been his wife and a constant source of support throughout his career spanning three decades. Together, they have four children and reside on their farm outside Nashville, Tennessee.

Love Life Prayer Walk

  • 3501 Horton Street Raleigh, NC, 27607 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Every year, Love Life partners with thousands of believers from local churches and community leaders to prayer walk outside the darkest places in our cities – the local abortion center. Our “40 Week Journey of Hope” is based on a baby’s life in the womb from conception to birth. Every prayer walk consists of a time of prayer, worship, testimonies, the “tragic truth”, and an opportunity to connect with Love Life ministries beyond the prayer walk. This is not a protest, but a time of prayer and worship. LEARN MORE.

Meeting Location for the prayer walk is 3501 Horton Street, Raleigh. We begin at 9:00 am and suggest everyone arrive at least 30 min early to get parked and checked in. The Observation/Security team will direct you where to park. Please check the weather and dress accordingly.
